The genesis of iRideArusha started with a spark of adventure in my early 20s while living in Chicago. I bought my first motorcycle and immediately felt an unparalleled sense of freedom. That bike became my key to the city, taking me to neighborhoods and hidden gems I might have otherwise overlooked. I experienced the full diversity and richness of Chicago’s culture, not just through the iconic landmarks but through the everyday people, the lesser-known corners, and the open road. The motorcycle gave me a new lens through which to view life—a sense of connection, discovery, and independence that I wanted to share with others.
Years later, my journey brought me to my wife Sylvia and to her home country of Tanzania. A place that quickly captured my heart. Its breathtaking landscapes, vibrant culture, and the warmth of its people ignited a deep connection within me. We began dreaming of a way to share the spirit and beauty of this incredible country with others—creating experiences that are personal, authentic, and filled with adventure.
It was through this shared passion for exploration and connection that iRideArusha was born. Partnering with the iRide Team, we combined my our love for motorcycles and the desire to showcase the vibrancy of Tanzania. Based in Arusha, the heart of East Africa, iRideArusha offers riders the same sense of discovery I first felt in Chicago—only now, the landscape is filled with the vast plains of the Serengeti, the towering peak of Kilimanjaro, and the rich culture of Tanzania.

After running operations successfully in Nairobi for 7 years, iRide expanded its vision regionally and established offices in Arusha, Dar es Salaam, Mombasa and Kigali. These various offices are all part of the iRideAfrica network. Each location provides dedicated customer support on-site, while maintaining the proven maintenance and customer service standards that has made iRide successful. The iRideAfrica networks also allows for seamless cross-border rental services throughout the region allowing customers to pick-up the bike in one office and drop it off at any other iRide office.
Going forward, iRideAfrica envisions further expansion across the African continent, building a reliable and professional network of motorcycle rental and touring services to deliver exceptional experiences to clients. In doing so it seeks to expand its back-end service offering and develop a scalable business platform that other motorcycle rental companies can leverage in joining the iRideAfrica network.

At iRideArusha, our vision is to create unforgettable, immersive experiences for riders who want to explore Tanzania in a unique way. We aim to provide more than just motorcycle tours; we want to offer a deep connection to the country’s culture, landscapes, and people. By offering guided tours, rentals, and lessons, we hope to open up Tanzania’s hidden gems to travelers who crave adventure and authenticity. Whether it’s riding along the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro or through local villages, our goal is to showcase the true essence of Tanzania while fostering a sense of freedom and exploration.
We also envision iRideArusha as a hub for adventure enthusiasts, both local and international. By working closely with the local community and providing employment opportunities, we aim to support Tanzania’s tourism and economy while promoting sustainable travel practices. Our long-term goal is to expand our offerings, connecting riders with more remote regions and fostering a deeper appreciation for the natural beauty and cultural richness of Tanzania. To help execute this vision, we partner with Safaribookings.com. We believe that through the open road, travelers can create lifelong memories while leaving a positive impact on the places they visit.
